Itinerary Details

Day 1

Welcome to Rome: Arrival Without Worries

Your private driver welcomes you directly at the airport arrivals. No worries about luggage or flight fatigue: he will take you directly to your hotel or apartment accommodation. The rest of the day is free to allow the whole family to rest, take a short walk in the surrounding neighborhood, and enjoy a first, peaceful Roman family dinner.

Day 2

Ancient Rome: Gladiators, Emperors and Stories for Everyone

With your minivan and dedicated local guide, begin your visit to the heart of the Empire: Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill (skipping the lines thanks to priority access guaranteed by Argiletum). The guide will tell the story with a tailored approach: exciting anecdotes about gladiators for children, solid historical context for adults, and deliberately relaxed pacing with strategic breaks for grandparents. At midday, lunch break according to your preferences: a typical Roman trattoria to taste traditional dishes, or an elegant restaurant for those preferring something more refined. In the afternoon, the visit continues with a panoramic tour of ancient Rome "outside the walls": Circus Maximus with its spacious green lawn, the Mouth of Truth, the Baths of Caracalla, the Pyramid of Cestius and Tiber Island on the Tiber River, one of the most evocative corners of the city.

Day 3

Golf Cart, St. Peter’s and Historic Center: The Heart of Rome

In the morning you set off in a private golf cart to explore the historic center without effort: the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, the Trevi Fountain, and the most evocative alleys of Rome. An experience that children love and grandparents appreciate—among the most popular with our multigenerational trips. The day ends with a visit to St. Peter’s and the Basilica, with a private guide and priority access. The Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel are available as an optional add‑on: an extraordinary experience, but demanding—each family chooses according to their own pace.

Day 4

Free Rome or Day Trip: The Day is Yours

The last day is completely flexible based on your family's energy levels. You can opt for a free morning for some shopping and relaxation in the city center, or use your private minivan for a wonderful day trip to Tivoli (Villa Adriana and Villa d'Este), the fragrant Castelli Romani, or the ruins nestled in the greenery of Ostia Antica. At your request, private transfer to the airport for a peaceful and stress-free journey home.

Argiletum Tours Tip: Want an extra day? The tour can be easily extended for several more days, adding a full day to explore the surroundings of Rome or a private cooking class, a full day in Pompeii and Naples, to be arranged with you before departure.

🧸 Rome with Children: Our Tips

When the guided program is finished, here are some perfect ideas to relax together:

  • Villa Borghese: Rent a pedal rickshaw or a small boat on the lake; the park also hosts the historic Bioparco.
  • Castel Sant'Angelo: Beyond the history, the enormous walls seen from the Tiber seem straight out of a fairy tale for the little ones.
  • Gelato Break: The best way to break up the afternoon; strolling among the historic gelato shops in the center brings all generations together.
